In this letter we’d like to tell the reader about our experiences with Peter, Lynne and the McKee Team at Keller Williams Realty.  We would highly recommend them as brokers for either a buyer or a seller based on our experience with their entire team.

We contracted with the McKees to represent D’s mother in selling her home in East Greenbush after the death of her husband, and in purchasing a new home shortly thereafter.

Both Lynne and Peter were all we could have asked for in representation during what was a trying time for our family.  They were knowledgeable, patient, well-informed, informative and creative in working with us to prepare the house for sale, in negotiations for sale, and in locating a new home for D’s mother.

But, above all, they were, at all times, professional, in the best sense of the word.  They took the time to explain, advise, evaluate, and encourage when it was necessary, but also to disagree when it was necessary, or when they felt we were making a decision their experience told them might not be in our interest.

They answered myriad questions from D and myself as well as from D’s mother, and the time they spent with us, and on our behalf made us feel as though we were their only clients (though, of course, we weren’t)!

From the time we signed the initial representation agreement, to the date of the final closing, Lynne and Peter took as much time with us as we asked for, whenever we asked for it, and often, even when we didn’t ask.  They went the “extra mile” in seeking us out with their thoughts and ideas…all directed to helping us sell a house (successfully, I might add) in a difficult market, and to finding the perfect replacement (also successfully) for our family’s very specific needs.

Our experience the McKee Team was a totally positive one, and we would recommend them to anyone looking to buy or sell a home in the Capital District.

Hi Lynne!

I do want to thank you and Peter for your endless support and guidance throughout the process of selling one house and buying another.  This was an enormous challenge which I had originally approached quite reluctantly (as you may recall!).  The two of you gave me the confidence I needed to pull the trigger and make the necessary changes in my life.  No question or concern of mine was left unanswered.  You guys were responsive and attentive from start to finish...and then some!  From the great advice on staging, to the immediate removal of the surprise oil tank, to the keen negotiating skills on both ends, to the not-so-terrifying closings, I could not have done any of it without you. In 2010 we had the exciting but also difficult task of relocating from Kansas City to the Albany area. Not knowing anyone in the Capital District, we were lucky enough to have a future colleague recommend realtors Peter and Lynne McKee. To fit within our restricted time frame and travel abilities, our goal was to look at potential houses in one weekend, select one that same weekend, and return only in time for the closing. It seemed like an impossible task! Peter and Lynne helped make that happen. We now live in the house that was the perfect match for us.

Through their hard work and careful attention to what we were looking for, in the weeks before our visit, we were able to examine on the web a large number of potential homes. In the weekend of our visit, the house visits were so well coordinated and planned that we had plenty of time to see each house on our list. Recently I was in the difficult position of purchasing a home in the Capital District for my Aunt who was not living in the area and was unable to participate in the process.  Also we were under significant time pressure.  Fortunately, I had the expertise of Pete and Lynne to assist me every step of the way.  I called on a Sunday afternoon to let them know that we had to move quickly, and by Monday we were viewing homes.  Because of their knowledge of the market, relationships with other realtors, and extremely efficient manner of conducting their business, we were able to find the perfect home within the week.  Pete and Lynne were also great in helping with negotiations and scheduling necessary appointments with the other professionals needed including the inspector and attorney.   They attended to every detail, completed the research necessary to answer all of my questions, and responded incredibly quickly to all of my phone calls and emails. 

Pete and Lynne also understand the stress involved for both the seller and purchaser of a home.  Their calm, organized, supportive manner made the process so much easier.  It was a pleasure to work with “The McKee Team” and I recommend them to you without hesitation.

Dear Lynne and Peter:

I want to thank you for all of the special services and care you provided in selling my house.

First, there were Lynne’s detailed instructions to help me get the house ready and then her meticulousness and skill in staging the house so that I received an offer at the full asking price from the first perspective buyer to see the house. Then when due to no fault of yours that sale fell through, and necessary repairs disclosed by the first prospective buyer’s inspection were made, and the house was again on the market, I again received a fully satisfactory offer from the first prospective buyer to see it then. That really convinced me of Lynne’s skill, although it was really not a surprise because I knew and had engaged you because you recently had sold two other houses in my neighborhood to the first prospective buyers to see them.

Then there was Peter’s skill in negotiating not only the sale, but in taking over the finding of contractors and supervising repairs when during the pendency of the sale I became increasingly ill, ultimately wound up in the hospital, and afterwards could no longer drive. Further, Peter, you saved me much money by having certain tests done which showed that work that the actual buyers wanted done was unnecessary and that other work could be done for much less than their estimate. All this went far beyond what I had expected from a real estate agent.

And Lynne, you, too, went far beyond my expectations when you took over dealing with the person who was supposed to get my house emptied of what I had left behind, sell these contents or otherwise dispose of them, and clean the house so it was ready for the buyers.

Then there were the little things like Lynne coming over to my new place to bring things I had unintentionally left behind and Peter coming to the hospital several times to keep me apprised of his negotiations with the buyers.

Through all this, you were patient and made me feel that I was dealing with friends who were looking out for my best interests and not just in a business relationship, and I still have that feeling.

I have been praising you and telling of all you did for me whenever I talk about the sale, and will recommend you at every opportunity.

Peter was a huge help throughout the home buying process. We met him by chance at an open house, and feel so lucky to have found him. As a first-time home buyer, I loved that Peter could answer all of my questions, from simple to complex to silly. Even when a house didn't necessarily meet our expectations, we still had a blast meeting with Peter and exploring different places. It's easy to tell that he loves the real estate business. He was always friendly, humorous, well-informed, flexible, and genuinely interested in the homes we were seeing. By the time we moved into our new home, we felt like Peter was more like an uncle or a good friend than a real estate agent. Plus, we encountered one difficult situation with an inspection that revealed several major problems, and Peter went above and beyond what I would expect any other real estate agent to do. It could have been a horrifically stressful time for us, and although it was still a difficult situation, Peter really took care of us. I trust him completely, and will without a doubt ask for his help for any future house hunting or selling.

I highly recommend Lynne and Peter McKee as agents who will not only sell your home for you but will help you with all the details. Lynne found someone who would help stage my house. They offered information on movers, people who would take what I didn't need, and others who would help clean out when I had left. They tried their best to alleviate any worries I had and always returned calls promptly.

My home actually sold quite rapidly even in this economy due to their hard work.

They are a great team and I had no regrets at having chosen them to sell my home.
